Madcradle Online is the digital marketing partner of the Hong Kong International Film Festival Society for ten consecutive years since 2008. Deemed as Asia’s most celebrated film festival and Hong Kong’s largest cultural event, the Hong Kong International Film Festival (HKIFF) attracts tens of thousands of moviegoers and filmmakers worldwide every year. From the dazzling scenes of the red carpets to movie screenings depicting different scores of life, the film festival has long been the city’s most anticipated event of the year. Our objective was to promote Hong Kong and Asian films worldwide, make world cinema accessible to the Hong Kong public, and keep moviegoers in close touch with the latest happenings of the film festival.

Over 200 films are on show at the film festival every year. Hundreds of world’s leading movie stars and filmmakers arrive at Hong Kong to attend the different activities of the city’s largest cultural event. HKIFF needed a highly customized digital solution to stay in close touch with moviegoers worldwide and keep them updated about the latest activities and film showing schedules. Visitors expected HKIFF’s online platforms to offer the function of movie tickets booking. The digital solution needed a high technical capacity to support the high traffic flow expected during the film festival season.

Madcradle Online designed and developed HKIFF’s website and mobile app to produce seamless user experience in film schedule viewing and ticket booking. We customized payment gateways for all of HKIFF’s digital channels and integrated them with Cityline online ticketing system.
